The Eagles played their home opener tonight at the Rickard Complex vs the Whitby Fury for game two of a home and away series. Both teams played hard fast end to end hockey which resulted in the game being sent to overtime. Both teams were assessed penalties in the five minute sudden death. At the conclusion of the overtime the score remained tied.
The Eagles were down to their last shooter trailing by a goal when Matt Gauld scored the tie breaker. Eagles Brian Bunnett would score the game winnning goal, his first as an Eagle !!!!!
Compliments to a solid goaltending performance from net minder Jackson Teichroeb who made incredible saves throughout the night and stopped the Fury in the shootout
