(SJHL) TERRIERS GET ON WIN COLUMN IN SEASON OPENER......

The Yorkton Terriers opened up their 2009-2010 SJHL Regular Season with a 3-1 win over the Weyburn Red Wings Friday night at the Farrell Agencies Arena.
Clarke Breitkreuz had the game's first goal, finding the back of the net at 4:01 of the first period, thanks to a Kurtis Decker helper. Nick Dietrich's goal at 7:41 made it a 2-0 game, and the score stayed that way heading in to the first intermission. David Skagen, who was injured in the first game of the season opener last year, had an assist, along with Cody Zubko.

At 13:22 of the second period, Terrier captain Zubko gave Yorkton a 3-0 advantage, with Rylan McDonell and Grand Prairie, Alberta's Matt Chomyc each picking up an assist.

Weyburn got themselves on the scoreboard at 1:15 of the final frame courtesy a Tyler Penny marker.

The final score was 3-1, in favour of the Yorkton Terriers.
