(SIJHL) Ice Dogs take Game 2......

Well, it wasn’t for sure if there was going to be an exhibition game tonight between the Dryden Ice Dogs and Sioux Lookout Flyers. Eagle Lake Arena had lost their Power in the early evening, but the game went on. As Woodlands Arena in Vermilion Bay made the ice available to the clubs to avoid cancelling tonights action. And it was sure a battle, as it seemed Sioux was heading into the third period with the lead 2-1, until Dryden tied it up. Third Period was the scene of young newcomer, and eagle lake product, Tim Kavanaugh rushing in from the point, and scored what ended up to be the winning goal, making it 3-2 for the Ice Dogs. The Dogs wouldn’t look back, ending the 60 minute battle….5-2. Both goaltenders, Barker and Timmerman surrendered a goal each for the win. With preseason completed, the Ice Dogs will now prepare for the upcoming season opener on September 22, 2009 in Sioux Lookout against the Flyers.
