(OJAHL) Vees Improve to 3-0......

The Kingston KIMCO Voyageurs improved to 3-0 with a 5-2 victory over the Milton IceHawks Thursday night at the Invista Centre. "I thought we got out of the gate pretty slow and hats off to Milton cause they came out strong," said Head Coach Evan Robinson. "They had us on our heels early, but we found a way to get our game going and started moving the puck better as the game moved on," said Robinson.

The Vees opened the scoring when Brett Agnew scored just over two minutes into the game, from Jarrett Burton and Justin Levac. Justin Periera tied the game just over a minute later and then Adam Piett gave the IceHawks the lead early in the second period. Adam Pyymaki, Brock Higgs and Corbin Crawford responded for the Vees in the back half of the second period and Tyler Melancon finished up the scoring in the third to give the Vees the 5-2 win. "I thought it took us awhile to get going but by the midway point in the game, we were rolling and everyone played a lot more responsible," said Jarrett Burton. "The Line of Higgs, Melancon and Laliberte was big for us tonight and that's what we need from them," said Captain Kevin Christmas. "We do need to focus a bit more in the early part of games. We've been strong in the back half of games, but need to start stronger from the opening face-off," finished Christmas.

The Vees travel to Oakville to play the Blades on Friday night and then play Buffalo in Oakville for the college showcase on Saturday night.
