(LHJAAAQ) Condors Fall To Laval......

If the first two periods is any indication of how the Kahnawake Condors can play, the rest of the league will have to find a way to stop them. Even after losing 6-2 to le Rouseau des Sports de Laval in Sherbrooke earlier this evening, the team’s performance was impressive.

The Condors peppered Laval goaltender Guillaume Tartre with shot after shot for 16 straight minutes without a scoring. But that wasn’t the turning point. When Manuel Kourtoglou broke in alone on Tartre and tried to score top corner on the veteran netminder – that was a turning point. But for which team?

Kourtoglou didn’t score. Had he scored, the Condors would have taken a 1-0 lead and had carried the momentum deeper into the second period.

It was Laval who struck first just minutes later on a two on two break.

Surprise Condor starter Eric Bourdon made a pad safe off the first shot but was unable to

control the rebound which was eased into the open net by an unchecked Laval player.

The Condors tied it early in the third after defenseman Calvin Smith launched a shot from the blue line.

The celebrations ended early minutes later as Laval scored again, and added two more after the Condors chalked up four straight penalties, breaking down and losing sight of their game plan.
